FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a foamed sheet consisting of a polypropylene composition, as well as to use of the polypropylene composition to produce a foamed sheet. Polypropylene composition contains from 87.5 wt. % to 92.5 wt. % of polypropylene with high melt strength (PP-VPR) and from 7.5 wt. % to 12.5 wt. % of nucleating agent (HA), wherein the foamed sheet has thickness of 2.0 mm to 10 mm. Nucleating agent (NA) is talc, and polypropylene with high melt strength (PP-VPR) has melt strength F30 from more than 25.0 cN to 50.0 cN and tensile v30 of the melt from more than 205 mm/s to 300 mm/s, wherein melt strength F30 and melt tensile strength v30 are defined in compliance with ISO 16790: 2005.

EFFECT: providing a foamed sheet from a polypropylene composition, which unexpectedly has good compressibility and, at the same time, good recoverability in combination with good bearing capacity, overcoming the problems of foamed polystyrene and LDPE-based foams.
