SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image encoding means. An intra prediction mode is obtained for the current block, based on it, discrete prediction samples for the current block are obtained. Residual discrete samples are obtained for the current block based on discrete prediction samples. Conversion coefficients are obtained for the current block based on residual discrete samples for the current block. Residual information associated with transform coefficients and intra prediction mode information for the current block are encoded. Current block includes a region of low-frequency transformation coefficients, including at least one significant transformation coefficient, and a region different from the low-frequency transform coefficient region, which includes a zero transform coefficient. Residual information includes last significant coefficient prefix information and last significant coefficient suffix information with respect to the position of the last non-zero transform coefficient from among the transform coefficients for the current block.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding images.
