FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gastroenterology, and can be used for diagnostics of colorectal cancer. A biopsy material is sampled from the patient’s colonic mucosa and immunomorphological analysis is used to determine the development of colorectal cancer in the patient. Relative area of vasoactive intestinal peptide expression in the middle one-third of the sigmoid intestinal mucosa is determined, which is calculated as the ratio of the expression area of the analysed marker to the area of the analysed tissue. If the relative expression area is within range of 11.9 to 13.1, the patient is diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
EFFECT: method provides the possibility of increasing information value of colorectal cancer diagnostics due to determination of immunomorphological parameters of components of diffuse endocrine system using quantitative criterion of relative area of expression of vasoactive intestinal peptide.
