FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a method for the prediction of a total survival in the patients with liver metastases of colorectal cancer following hepatic resection, involving determining clinical-pathological (morphological), histological and molecular prediction factors , differing by the fact that the immunohistochemical method is used to study molecular characteristics of the tumour microenvironment, namely the presence and number of vessels with smooth muscle actin in their wall for the liver metastasis stroma in three visual fields; the visual fields are specified by the maximum immunohistochemical reaction of each section of the liver biopsy material with the metastatic tumour, and if observing the vessels with smooth muscle actin in their wall in each visual field, the patient is referred to a group with a favourable prognosis (the three or more years survival after hepatic resection); with no vessels having the smooth musculature in their wall in all the three visual fields, the patient is referred to a group of the unfavourable prognosis (the survival of less than two years).
EFFECT: more accurate prediction of the overall survival.
