FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmic surgery, namely to systems, methods, and apparatus for detachably attaching a handle with a drive mechanism to an intraocular lens (IOL) cartridge, which folds the IOL when the cover is retracted. Intraocular lens (IOL) cartridge contains: a tip, a compartment configured to accommodate the IOL, wherein the tip is in fluid communication with the compartment, and a cover configured to be retracted from a first position to a second position for manipulating the IOL for delivery and for opening the tip. When the cover is in the first position, the tip is located inside the cover, and when the cap is in the second position, the tip is at least partially exposed to the outside of the distal end of the cap. IOL cartridge can also contain a plunger cylinder which is in fluid communication with the compartment, wherein a plunger is displaced in the plunger cylinder.
EFFECT: simplified use of plug-in devices and rationalized procedure of IOL delivery to the eye.
