FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurements in the field of electrical engineering and can be used to determine the point of damage of a cable-overhead power transmission line (COL). Distance to the point of damage is determined as the sum of the lengths of the undamaged sections of the COL on the side of the device and the part of the damaged section, which the wave runs through during the time equal to half the value of the time interval between the moments of arrival of the primary and the first waves reflected from the point of damage. For accurate determination of the damaged section of the COL in each device, the amplitude of the primary wave incident on the installation site of the device is estimated. On its basis, a working signal is formed, which is a dependence of the amplitude of the primary wave during propagation along sections of the COL, taking into account its attenuation and the assumption that the point of damage is located at the opposite end of the COL. Operating signal is received from the device at the opposite end of the COL through the information transmission channels, and the controlled signal is generated as a module of the difference in operating signal values for the corresponding points of the ACL. Damaged section of the COL is the section which corresponds to the minimum value of the monitored signal.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining distance to the point of COL damage.
