FIELD: electric power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurements in the field of electric power engineering and is intended for determining the point of damage of a power transmission line with bypass communication. Phase currents at the measurement point are linearly converted into a controlled signal by applying modal transformation with subsequent suppression of the fundamental harmonic, the moments of arrival of waves to the measurement point are fixed on its basis, and amplitudes and polarities of the measured waves are determined. Based on phase currents and phase voltages at the measurement point, as well as specific parameters of the monitored power transmission line, pre-emergency voltages of phases are estimated in approximate point of damage, determined by another method, and linearly converting them into an auxiliary signal by applying said modal transformation. Determining the sign of the auxiliary signal at the moment of occurrence of the damage, which is the moment ahead of the moment of arrival of the first wave to the place of measurements for the time of the wave travel along the controlled power line from the approximate place of damage to the place of measurements, and if the polarity of the first measured wave coincides with it, then the point of damage is determined based on the moment of arrival to the point of measurements of the wave reflected from the point of damage. Otherwise, the moment of arrival of the first wave to the opposite end of the controlled power line is estimated and place of damage is taken to be a place remote from the middle of the controlled power transmission line at a distance, which the wave runs along it for a time equal to half the duration of the interval between the said evaluation of the moment of arrival of the first wave to the opposite end of the controlled power transmission line and the moment of arrival to the measurement point of the next measured wave, whose amplitude exceeds the amplitude of the first measured wave, and the polarity coincides with the sign of the auxiliary signal at the moment of occurrence of the damage.
EFFECT: high accuracy of one-way wave determination of the point of damage on a power transmission line (PTL) with short bypass communication.
