FIELD: timber industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to timber industry, in particular, to cutting of round assortments in production of sawn timber. Method of radial sawn timber production includes longitudinal sawing of logs into sectors, sawing sectors into lumber along the knot lines to the core of the wood, sawing the sectors into lumber along planes parallel to the plane passing through the bisectors of the angles of the end surfaces of the sector, with subsequent removal of wane and edge with remains of knots from sawn timber. Sectors are cut to produce a radial board and side parts in the form of an isosceles trapezoid with a radial arrangement of annual wood layers with simultaneous removal of rot, turning of trapezoids at angle of 180° relative to each other and gluing them together.

EFFECT: providing rational cutting of round assortments partially affected by heart rot, and obtaining sawn products with improved strength characteristics.
