FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in veterinary medicine for the treatment of intoxications due to protozoal infections affecting the gastrointestinal tract (GIT). The use of an aqueous 5.0% suspension of silicon-substituted biogenic calcium hydroxyapatite of the formula Ca10(PO4)6-x(SiO4)x(OH)2-x is proposed, where 0.9≤ x≤1.1, as an enterosorbent when administered orally for the treatment of intoxications due to protozoal infections affecting the gastrointestinal tract.
EFFECT: invention ensures the production of a safe biocompatible enterosorbent with high adsorption capacity.
