SUBSTANCE: proposed is a tensioning system for a conveyor element. Tensioning system comprises limiter. Base is movable relative to the limiter. Tensioning system additionally contains multiple spacer elements. At least one spacer element of the plurality of spacer elements is movable from the rest position to the engagement position under action of gravity only. At least one spacer element rests on the limiter in the rest position. At least one spacer is installed between the base and the limiter in the engagement position.
EFFECT: disclosed is a system and a method of tensioning a conveyor in a mining system.
