FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Corneal endothelium is protected against contact with silicone oil in aniridia and aphakia in the course of two-stage combined optical-reconstructive vitreoretinal surgery. At the first stage, corneal trepanation is performed with installation of a temporary keratoprosthesis, as well as vitreoretinal manipulations. First stage is completed with tamponade with heavy perfluoro-organic liquid of single eye chamber and through keratoplasty, and 7–10 days later, the second stage is carried out, which consists in passing prolene suture 9/0 on a straight needle along a trajectory, as shown in Fig. 5e, along a guide needle through sclera at 2 mm from the limb.
EFFECT: method enables preventing the release of silicone oil into the anterior chamber in the remote postoperative period, as well as decompensation of the cornea or keratotransplant, developing secondary ophthalmic hypertension and uveitis.
