METHOD FOR PLASTY OF DEFORMED NASAL SEPTUM Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/24

Abstract RU 2820488 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to otorhinolaryngology. On one side of the nasal septum at the point of transition of the skin into the mucous membrane, an incision is made from a point located medial to an upper point of the columella, by 0.2–0.3 cm to the bottom of the nasal cavity to the base of the nasal septum. Then the incision is continued towards the front edge of the inferior nasal concha parallel to the bottom of nasal cavity 0.3–0.5 cm in size. Mucous membrane and perichondrium are separated from the quadrangular cartilage to form a case for the subsequent fixation of the quadrangular cartilage. Quadrangular cartilage is dissected along the nasal dorsum at distance of 5 mm from the edge, leaving the upper part in place. Lower part of the quadrangular cartilage is removed through the incision, and its shape is corrected to restore the architectonics of the nasal septum. Then formed quadrangular cartilage is installed so that it is in contact with cartilage fragment left under nasal bridge "end-to-end". Caudal edge of the reimplanted cartilage is fixed to the mucoperichondrium on the opposite side of the incision with a single suture. Then the previously formed mucoperichondrial case is closed and fixed with sutures. Mucoperichondrial incision is closed. Tampons lubricated with antibacterial ointment are introduced from both sides into the nasal cavity.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to exclude deformation of caudal part of nose tip and violation of angle of anterior nasal valve during reconstruction of nasal septum in children, fix the restored nasal septum, provide a favourable course of the postoperative period.
