SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, particularly to a method for prediction of newborn’s weight. Said method is based on genetic data of mothers of Russian nationality, who are natives of the Central Black Earth Region of the Russian Federation, and includes DNA extraction from peripheral venous blood, analysis of polymorphic loci rs1805087 MTR – rs1979277 SHMT1 – rs11568818 – MMP7 – rs3025058 MMP3 and prediction of high risk of birth of children with low body weight when detecting a combination of genotypes in the mother rs1805087 MTR AA – rs1979277 SHMT1 CC – rs11568818 – MMP7 TT – rs3025058 MMP3 6A6A.
EFFECT: present invention provides prediction of newborn weight based on genetic data of mothers.
