FIELD: pharmaceutics.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing paracetamol and a device for its implementation. Method of producing paracetamol is characterized by that a solution of p-aminophenol in acetic acid is placed in a reactor, then, gas current is supplied to reactor to create inert atmosphere and pressure of 0.5–3 atm is created, after which the solution is heated to boiling to obtain a reaction mass and vapours. Reaction mass is boiled in reactor for not more than 2.5–4 hours, while maintaining pressure of 0.5–3 atm and removing vapours from the reactor through a line equipped with a vapor temperature measuring device, a vapor cooling device for obtaining condensed vapours and means for controlling the condensed vapor removal rate. After that, the reaction mass is cooled to a temperature of not more than 10 °C to form a precipitate and a mother solution, which are fed to a filtering device for separating the precipitate from the mother solution. Obtained precipitate is washed and dried at pressure below atmospheric pressure.

EFFECT: flexible control of the process of acylation of p-aminophenol with acetic acid, reduction of total time of the technological cycle, simplification of the hardware design of the synthesis process and increase in the productivity of the apparatus for producing paracetamol.
