SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a preventive and/or therapeutic agent for liver disease, comprising a combination of a PPARα agonist with SGLT2 inhibitor, wherein the liver disease is selected from the group consisting of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, wherein the PPARα agonist represents (R)-2-[3-[[N-(benzoxazol-2-yl)-N-3-(4-methoxyphenoxy)propyl]aminomethyl]phenoxy] butyric acid or a salt thereof, where the SGLT2 inhibitor is ipragliflozin or tofogliflozin.
EFFECT: present invention provides a significant effect of reducing the size of lipid drops in hepatocytes and inhibiting hepatocyte ballooning in a mouse model of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
