FIELD: cable production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of cable production and can be used in technological processes of creation of corrugated armored welded sheaths of power electric cables. Method includes application of steel tapes on cable with their further welding along edges, stage-by-stage performance of heat treatment of produced welded cable sheath and implementation of sheath corrugation. Before corrugation, the first stage of heat treatment of the welded sheath is carried out by heating to temperature of 400–450 °C by passing through a heating induction unit and subsequent cooling in water to temperature of 100–150 °C. After corrugation, the second stage of heat treatment of the welded sheath is carried out by heating to temperature of 240–260 °C and subsequent cooling of the cable in the corrugated steel sheath in the wound state on the cable drum for 1.5–2 hours to ambient temperature.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to significantly increase operational reliability of the power electric cable due to preservation of integrity of the corrugated welded sheath at possible mechanical effects on the cable during its operation.
