FIELD: electrical engineering; cable termination. SUBSTANCE: terminal box has porcelain insulator filled with insulating material, sealing unit, and compressing device. Sealing unit is made in the form of hollow metal cylinder filled with sealing compound and provided with threaded section on outer surface engageable with threaded portion of compressing device flange. Terminal box sealing unit is installed as follows: hollow metal cylinder is fitted onto straightened end of cable, compressing device is secured on bedplate, and the latter is expanded to straightened end of cable; upon installation of grounding unit, porcelain insulator, shielding caps, and electric-field equalizing cone cylinder is screwed onto compressing device flange and filled with sealing compound. EFFECT: reduced labor consumption, enhanced electric strength, service life, and reliability of terminal box. 5 cl, 2 dwg
