FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of making a foamed plastic moulded article with a film coating using a mould with at least one forming part to form a forming cavity of this mould. Method consists in performing the following stages: A) heating at least one forming part of the mould, B) applying a granulate on at least one heated forming part of the mould, C) the granulate is melted in the heated forming part of the mould to form a liquid film layer, D) the liquid film layer is applied on the foam moulded article to form a film coating on its surface as a result of the liquid film layer fusion with the surface of this foam moulded article, E) at least one forming part of the mould is cooled and the foamed plastic article coated with a film layer is pushed out.

EFFECT: present invention is based on the task of providing a simplified method of making a foam moulded article with a film coating, which method would be feasible with lower costs and with shorter duration of the production cycle and would allow further targeted adjustment of the properties of the foam moulded article taking into account its intended purpose.
