Device is configured to heat the vapor-generating article in order to obtain an inhalation aerosol and includes a chamber for receiving the vapor-generating article, a heater designed to heat an aerosol-forming article in the chamber. Heater includes a shell configured to at least partially extend in the axial direction of the cavity, and having a hollow space extending in the axial direction, and a heating coil located in the cavity and configured to extend in the axial direction of the shell, where wire material of heating coil has cross section, including main part, note here that the length of the main part in the axial direction of the heating coil is greater than the length of the main part in the radial direction of the heating coil.
EFFECT: reduced energy losses in the resistive heating coil, improved heat transfer.
