FIELD: mapping.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thematic mapping based on the Earth remote sensing data processing and concerns a method of detecting fire hazardous areas of forest felling. Method includes remote probing by means of orbital space carrier with obtaining images in two independent spectral ranges, detection of fire hazardous areas by formation of a synthesized matrix of images and construction of a map of fire hazardous areas of forest felling. Synthesized image matrix is built on the basis of pixel-by-pixel difference of radiation intensity in ranges of 2.100–2.300 mcm and 0.845–0.885 mcm for each investigated section of forest felling during the period of snow cover melting. Map of fire-hazardous areas of forest felling is built immediately before the beginning of the fire-hazardous season.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of detecting fire-hazardous areas of felling immediately before the beginning of the fire-hazardous season.
