FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to navigation based on signals of radio-emitting objects with known coordinates and can be used as an alternative method of determining angular orientation of an aircraft in space. Disclosed method is based on receiving N≥3 independent spaced apart radio-emitting objects with known coordinates and elliptically polarized radio emissions using a tri-orthogonal dipole antenna system (TODAS) installed on an aircraft. Using TODAS, at each of two times t1 and t2, measured are three orthogonal components Ex,n(t1), Ey,n(t1), Ez,n(t1) and Ex,n(t2), Ey,n(t2), Ez,n(t2) of the vectors of electric field strength En(t1) and En(t2) of received signals from each of N independent radio-emitting objects with known coordinates. Orientation of electric field strength vectors En(t1) and En(t2) is determined in Cartesian coordinate system OXYZ. Parameters of direction vectors ln are determined. Values of aircraft turn angle matrix elements are determined and current angular position of aircraft is determined from their values.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining angular orientation of an aircraft under conditions of natural, deliberate and unintentional interference, in case of malfunction or failure of a receiver of signals of global navigation satellite systems.
