SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a device for generating an aerosol and a method for controlling heating time of a heater. Aerosol generating device comprises a heater configured to heat a substrate to generate an aerosol; a puff sensor configured to measure the number of puffs of a user; and a controller configured to determine the amount of evaporation of the substrate for generating the aerosol based on the puff detection value indicative of the number of puffs of the user, and controlling the heater heating time based on the found evaporation amount. Also described is a method of controlling an aerosol generating device.
EFFECT: aerosol generation device enables to control the heating time of the heater so that the heater operates only for a certain time, specified for each article for aerosol generation.
