FIELD: animal breeding; other devices for animal breeding.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to chew toys and treats for pets, and to mass production and use of chew toys for pets, namely rodents. Chewing toy for rodents contains hay, a vegetal mixture and a thickener. Toy contains a solution of carboxymethyl cellulose as a thickener; the components are used in the following ratio, wt.%: hay 40–60, vegetable mixture 10–15, thickener 30–45. Method of making a chewing toy for rodents involves mixing hay and a vegetable mixture with a carboxymethyl cellulose solution. After that, the obtained mass is given the required shape and dried at temperature of 70-80 °C. When preparing a carboxymethyl cellulose solution, 280–320 grams of carboxymethyl cellulose powder is used per 5 litres of water. Carboxymethyl cellulose solution is prepared in five steps, at four of which per 1 litre of water heated to temperature of 70–80 °C, 70–80 grams of carboxymethyl cellulose powder is added, stirring the solution until the powder is completely dissolved, and at the last stage, one more litre of water heated to temperature of 70–100 °C is added to the solution and mixed.
EFFECT: increased service life of the chewing toy for rodents, addition of duration of its occupation by a rodent, in the absence of toxic substances in it.
