FIELD: plant growing.
SUBSTANCE: light- and heat-reflecting composition contains water, calcium carbonate, finely dispersed silicon dioxide with fraction up to 100 mcm inclusive and stabilizing additives. Calcium carbonate used is finely dispersed chalk and/or microcalcite with fraction of up to 100 mcm inclusive. Stabilizing additives used are a mixture of thickening polymers – xanthan gum and guar gum in combination with methyl cellulose and/or carboxymethyl cellulose with a weight ratio of xanthan gum : guar gum : methyl cellulose and/or carboxymethyl cellulose equal to 1-10:1-10:1-10, and the composition additionally contains liquid soap, a packaging preservative and propylene glycol with the following content of components: finely dispersed chalk and/or microcalcite – 60-70 wt.%; finely dispersed silicon dioxide – 1-10.0 wt.%; mixture of thickening polymers – 0.1-2.0 wt.%; propylene glycol and/or glycerine – 0.1-10.0 wt.%; liquid soap – 0.1-1.0 wt.%, packing preserving agent – 0.1-1.0 wt.%; water – balance. In the method, the components are mixed in three steps. At the first stage, a premix of thickening polymers of xanthan and guar gums and methyl cellulose and/or carboxymethyl cellulose with propylene glycol and/or glycerine is mixed. At the second stage, the obtained premix is mixed with water, liquid soap and a packaging preserving agent for 10-40 minutes at temperature of 50-95 °C. At the third stage, the obtained mixture is mixed with finely dispersed chalk and/or microcalcite and with finely dispersed silicon dioxide.
EFFECT: inventions provide creation of light- and heat-reflecting composition stable in time during storage for protection against sunburn during vegetation period of vegetables, melons and fruits of fruit trees, resistant to precipitation after its application.
