FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: use for automated ultrasonic detection of defects on surface of pipelines. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that the device for automated ultrasonic detection of defects on the surface of pipelines comprises a housing, installation elements, ultrasonic control sensors, wherein the housing is made in the form of a fastening semi-ring, in which through holes are made, wherein the angle between them is 60°, in which set screws are installed at angle of 120° relative to each other, lower part of set screw is connected to spring, to which bracket with drives with built-in accumulators is connected, output shaft of drives is connected to belts, each of which is connected to drive wheels, which are made in form of gear wheel and are installed on rack, which is fixed on the inner surface of the caterpillar, which is made in the form of an arc, from an elastic material, on the outer surface of which suction cups are uniformly fixed, between the set screws on the fastening semi-ring there are measuring screws, in the lower part of which a detection sensor is fixed, and on the upper side the measuring screw is connected to the ultrasonic detectors through a signal line.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of accurate detection of defects during ultrasonic monitoring of the state of polyethylene pipelines, including hard-to-reach places, in autonomous mode.
