FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: use for beam adjustment of an X-ray apparatus. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that a plane-parallel plate of X-ray opaque material with indicator marks in the form of through holes is placed on a table between the radiation source and the recording system. Radiation source generating an X-ray beam is switched on. X-ray image of the plate is recorded with a digital X-ray receiver. Recording system is used to determine and fix the coordinates of the indicator mark with the highest signal intensity. Required displacement of the mark with maximum intensity to the centre on the coordinate plane of the recording system is calculated. This shift is used to calculate the correction of the X-ray beam position so that the maximum intensity of the beam falls into the central mark of the plate.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining the position of the centre of the beam of gamma quanta, high versatility of the method for centring the beam of a radiation source for installations with different radiation energy.
