SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding means. Value of the intra-prediction mode of the neighbouring block adjacent to the current block is set equal to the default value. Current block is predicted using intra-prediction mode, but not matrix intra-prediction mode, MIP, and said neighbouring block is used to derive the intra-prediction mode of the current block and is predicted using said MIP mode. Chromaticity mode of the current block is derived based on the intra-prediction mode of the current block and the block size of the current block proper. Intra-prediction mode value of the current block is obtained according to the default value.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of video coding.
