FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for intraoperative prevention of ring decentration during implantation of an intrastromal corneal ring in surgical management of central keratoconus of stage 2. Cornea is marked by selecting a capsulorhexis program in the Verion system software. Cornea is recorded and a real-time projection of the capsulorhexis is applied on the cornea. That is ensured by marking 5 points on the patient’s cornea: a point of intersection of the visual axis in the center of cornea and 4 points at the ends of the radii of the circular projection digital marking of the capsulorhexis with the center at the point of intersection of the visual axis at 12, 6, 3 and 9 o'clock, respectively. Center of the projection digital marking of the capsulorhexis is located at the point of intersection of the visual axis in the center of the cornea. During implantation of the ring into the intrastromal pocket, it is positioned along the previously made marking so that the center of the ring coincides with the point of the visual axis, and ends of radii of ring at 12, 6, 3 and 9 o'clock coincide with 4 points of ends of radii of circular projection digital marking of capsulorhexis at 12, 6, 3 and 9 o'clock respectively.
EFFECT: invention provides precision implantation of the intrastromal corneal ring with its accurate centering along the visual axis, increased uncorrected and corrected visual acuity, reduction of spherical and cylindrical components of refraction, improvement of keratometry data, elimination of risk of ring decentering in postoperative period.
