SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video coding technologies. Result is achieved by the fact that conversion is performed between the current video block and the encoded video representation using the palette mode. During transformation, the predictor palette is used to predict the palette of representative sample values for the current block in palette mode. Predictor palette updating after transformation of the current block is prohibited in accordance with the rule based on the characteristic of the current block.
EFFECT: high efficiency of video coding.
