FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment. Surgical device for performing an electrosurgical intervention on a patient comprises an apparatus having a generator for generating an exposure voltage and a control device for controlling the generator. Instrument of the device connected to the generator has at least one electrode for applying voltage to patient’s tissue. Surgical device also comprises a motion sensor for detecting patient's movement, fixed on the patient, and connected to the control device. Control device comprises a signal evaluation device configured to compare the signal from the motion sensor to at least first and second threshold levels to generate a warning signal when the first threshold level is exceeded and a shutdown signal for turning off the generator when the second threshold level is exceeded, wherein the first threshold level is below the second threshold level.

EFFECT: reduced risk of surgery during electrosurgical intervention by fast disconnection of generator when undesirable movement of patient is detected preventing undesirable disconnections due to slow or insignificant movements of the patient, which are harmless for the result of the operation, which enables to avoid injuring the patient.
