FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used for early detection of malignant neoplasms of pancreas in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus. Fasting blood plasma glucose is measured. Simultaneously with determination of glucose concentration in blood plasma is determined by concentration of glycated haemoglobin. Coefficient (K) is calculated by formula:
at value K>2 shows the presence of a malignant new growth of the pancreas in the patient. Such determination of concentrations of glucose and glycated haemoglobin with subsequent calculation of the coefficient is performed once month for 12 months or until K>2.
EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of early detection of malignant neoplasm of pancreas in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus by assessing the ratio of labouratory values of fasting blood glucose and glycated blood haemoglobin, which allows high-accuracy detection of malignant new growths of pancreas at early, preclinical stage.
