METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING AND TREATING BRONCHIAL HYPERACTIVITY IN SMOKERS AND NON-SMOKERS WITH PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/91 A61B6/03

Abstract RU 2822712 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to phthisiology, and can be used for diagnosis and treatment of bronchial hyperreactivity in smokers and nonsmokers with pulmonary tuberculosis. During the first week of staying in hospital, daily peak flowmetry is carried out, the results of which are used to calculate an index of daily fluctuations of peak expiratory flow rate (PFR) with calculation of coefficient K by a given formula. And if the coefficient K is 10 and more, the presence of bronchial hyperreactivity is diagnosed. For the smoking patient, anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy and, at the same time, nicotine replacement therapy in the form of transdermal patches and chewing gums are carried out for three months, and in a non-smoking patient with underlying anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy, a bronchodilator therapy is conducted by daily administration of Atrovent through nebuliser 20 drops 3 times a day.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables early prevention of progression of bronchial hyperreactivity in pulmonary tuberculosis due to a combination of techniques of the declared group of inventions.
