FIELD: microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: described is a method of identifying bacteria of the genus Bacillus—B. subtilis, B. megaterium and B. thuringiensis based on restriction analysis involves DNA extraction from a biological material followed by PCR of portion of 16S rRNA gene using primers 337F SEQ ID NO: 1 and 1100R SEQ ID NO: 2. Restriction enzyme Alu I is used for identification during restriction analysis, which forms unique restriction fragments for three most significant for agriculture bacteria of the genus Bacillus—B. subtilis, B. megaterium and B. thuringiensis. Difference in lengths of large fragments: 430, 526, 598 bps in B. subtilis, B. megaterium and B. thuringiensis respectively enables to identify these bacteria. Invention allows identifying these types of bacteria quickly, accurately and without involvement of a specialist in microbiology.
EFFECT: identification of bacteria of Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus megaterium and Bacillus thuringiensis species without involvement of specialists in microbiology by standardized methods of molecular genetics, with possibility of identification procedures for 4,5–6 hours.
