FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to thin sheet steel having an average corrosion rate of < 0.1250 mg/(cm2⋅h) used as a material for the railway industry, in particular for making compartments of "green" trains. Thin sheet steel has the following chemical composition, wt.%: C: 0.02–0.06, Si: 0.1–0.5, Mn: 0.4–1.7, P ≤ 0.02, Cr: 4.0–6.0, Ni: 1.0–3.0, S ≤ 0.007, N: 0.004–0.010, Als < 0.001, B: 0.001–0.006, total oxygen [O]T: 0.007–0.020, Cu: 0.1–0.6 and/or Sn: 0.005–0.04, Fe and unavoidable impurities are the rest, while Mn/S ≥ 250.
EFFECT: steel has both high mechanical properties and high corrosion resistance.
