FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing N-substituted 5-benzoyl-2-imino-4-thiazolines of general formula 1, where Ar = phenyl or substituted phenyl, which are intermediates in synthesis of biologically active molecules of different spectrum of action. Method involves using thiocyanatoacetophenone as a starting compound and is characterized by that thiocyanatoacetophenone, aromatic amine and triethylortoformate are reacted simultaneously with stirring for 20 minutes at 150°C.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to reduce the reaction time and the number of process steps.
