FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to compounds and methods for detecting neutrophil elastase activity. Disclosed is a method for detecting neutrophil elastase activity in a tissue sample lysate, involving: (1) preparing a lysate from a tissue sample obtained from a subject; (2) contacting the lysate with a probe compound; (3) further subjecting at least an aliquot of the lysate obtained in step (2) to gel electrophoresis; (4) measurement of the detected signal. Also disclosed are a method for diagnosing the disease, probe compounds of formula I, formula II and formula IIA, as well as compositions for detecting neutrophil elastase activity and for diagnosing the disease.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables to analyse tissue lysate to determine activity of neutrophil elastase.
