FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) from human pluripotent stem cells (PSC), which employs culture media without feeder cells, foreign components and serum. When cultured in a hanging drop or using a V-shaped test tube, 96-well round plate or a conical test tube from PSC, spheroidal embryoid bodies of uniform shape and size are obtained, which are then induced for differentiation into MSCs by adhesive cultivation.
EFFECT: present invention solves the problem of MSC contamination with foreign material of animal origin and is effective for obtaining highly safe human mesenchymal stem cells, which retain their characteristics after prolonged subculture, for example 20 and more passages.
