DIGITAL DIAPHANOSCOPY DEVICE FOR MAXILLARY SINUS PATHOLOGIES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/24 A61B1/04

Abstract RU 2823746 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to devices for non-invasive diagnosis of maxillary sinus pathologies. Digital diaphanoscopy device for diagnosing pathologies of maxillary sinuses comprises a device positioning unit, consisting of a base with power adjustment and LED applicator control units installed on the base, a stand with a CMOS camera equipped with a lens, and stands with horizontal bars for limiting the positioning area of the patient's head and fixing the LED applicator on the stands. CMOS camera and the adjustment and control units are connected to a personal computer. Probing channel consists of a series-connected LED applicator, a power control unit, a driver and a power supply unit. Recording channel includes a series-connected photodiode, a current-voltage converter, a non-inverting amplifier, a low-pass filter, an analogue-to-digital converter, a microcontroller and a communication interface with a personal computer, as well as a CMOS camera lens, a communication interface and a CMOS camera are connected to a personal computer. Second inputs of the power control unit and the driver are interconnected and connected to the input of the microcontroller. Device is equipped with a protective screen to exclude the effect of external illumination from the diagnostic results.

EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of diagnosing pathologies of maxillary sinuses (sensitivity indices up to 0.88, specificity up to 0.98) in relation to conventional diagnostic techniques (ultrasound and rhinoscopy) and, as a result, reducing the effect of subjectivity and qualification of the doctor on the reliability of diagnosis.
