FIELD: medicine; traumatology; orthopedics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for preoperative preparation of the patient’s muscles with injured cruciate ligament of knee joint for surgical intervention. All patients undergo electromyographic examination before the surgical intervention. Then in patients with reduced electromyography values 10 days before surgical treatment method includes passive electrostimulation of quadriceps muscle of thigh in two-phase asymmetric current mode with frequency of 30 Hz with working cycle of 10 s stimulation, then 10 s relaxation for 20 minutes daily with current build-up every 2–3 working cycles after the beginning of exposure in range from 0 to 70 mA until tangible muscular contractions appear.

EFFECT: method provides improved energy balance, increased anti-inflammatory and reparative potential of injured tissues, allows to carry out maximum possible recovery of kinetic function of muscles of injured area before operation, thus providing faster rehabilitation after surgical treatment, by increasing blood concentration of myokines IL-6 and TGF-β during passive electromyostimulation in said mode.
