FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to medicine, namely cardiology, and concerns preparing sarcopenia patients for cardiovascular surgeries. That is ensured by electric stimulation of the quadriceps muscle of hip for 1 session day for 60 minutes for at least 5 days or the whole waiting period for coronary artery bypass grafting. Myostimulator electrodes are located in upper and lower parts of anterior thigh surface on the right and on the left. Electrostimulation is performed by series of rectangular pulses with frequency of 45 Hz, duration of pulse 16 with pause of 5 s.
EFFECT: method provides effective preparation of patients with sarcopenia to cardiovascular surgeries, including by increasing strength and endurance of skeletal muscles, which in turn leads to reduced length of stay of patients in intensive care unit and cardiosurgery.
