FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology of producing refractory metals, particularly to production of powder of metallic molybdenum. Method involves preparation of an aqueous solution of ammonium molybdate, urea and citric acid, taken in a molar ratio: ammonium molybdate urea : citric acid = 1.1–1.3:1.6–1.8:3.2–3.7. Obtained solution is heated to temperature of 200–350 °C with subsequent addition of ammonium nitrate, taken in ratio, mol.: ammonium nitrate : ammonium molybdate = 15.0–18.0:1.1–1.3, is evaporated with initiation of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) reaction and holding is carried out until completion of burning.
EFFECT: obtaining ultrafine powder in one stage at low temperatures.
