FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of epoxy binders for making high-strength and heat-resistant composites using epoxy compounds with maximum possible specific functionality, i.e. with content of epoxy groups in molecule of more than 50%. Method of producing binders for high-strength and heat-resistant composites involves fusing and thermostating in a reactor with a high-speed mixer of dicyclopentadiene (K) dioxide, vinylcyclohexene (L) dioxide and high molecular weight epoxy diane resin with MM 1,000÷3,500 (M) in the ratio, wt.pts., K:L:M from 35:55:10 to 40:40:20. Fusion process is carried out at temperature from +70 to +120 °C for 30–60 minutes, with further cooling of the fused mixture to temperature from +35 to +45 °C. Mixture is then dissolved in a polar organic solvent in amount of 45 to 55 wt.pts. per 100 wt.pts. composition and stirred for 20 to 35 minutes with gradual cooling to ambient temperature. Thereafter, a curing agent is added (in amount of 60 to 100 wt.pts. curing agent per 100 wt.pts. dry resin part), obtained by chemical reaction of tri-(p-aminophenyl)methane (A) with cycloaliphatic dioxide -3,4-dioxycyclohexylmethyl-3', 4'-epoxycyclohexanecarboxylate – (B) as a result of their mixing in the presence of a catalyst – furfuryl alcohol – (C) at a ratio of components, wt.pts., A:B from 80:20 to 60:40 and (A+B):C from 100:5 to 100:15 and at temperature from +90 to +130 °C for 20 to 60 minutes with further cooling to ambient temperature, and final mixing of all components at temperature from +60 to +90 °C for 20 to 30 minutes before impregnation of reinforcing filler composites.
EFFECT: proposed approach enables to produce composites on standard equipment with high strength properties and heat resistance of up to 300÷350 °C.
