FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical devices and, in particular, to a medical catheter and three-dimensional (3D) magnetic positioning system. Medical catheter comprises a catheter body, a first magnetic sensor and a second magnetic sensor. Catheter body comprises a head section, a bend-adjustable section and a straight section connected in series along its axis, wherein the first and second magnetic sensors are located on the head section. First and second magnetic sensors are oriented at an angle to each other. Head section comprises a structural element having a proximal end connected to a flexurally adjustable section, where the first magnetic sensor is located on the structural element. Structural element forms the first channel, the axis of which is located at an angle to the axis of the structural element. First magnetic sensor is at least partially located in the first channel. Structural element is made ferromagnetic, wherein the second magnetic sensor comprises an inductance coil, the turns of which are at least partially wound on the outer circumferential surface of the structural element, or structural element comprises a non-ferromagnetic housing and a tube with a ferromagnetic core located above the housing, wherein the first channel is formed in the housing, and the second magnetic sensor is an inductance coil, the turns of which are at least partially wound on the outer circumferential surface of the structural element. Three-dimensional magnetic positioning system comprises a positioning device and the above-described medical catheter. Positioning device comprises a position processing unit and a display unit, wherein the position processing unit is connected with the possibility of data exchange with both the first and the second magnetic sensors. Position processing unit is configured to obtain information on the position of the first and second magnetic sensors and obtaining information on the position of the head section based on the position information of the first and second magnetic sensors. Display unit is connected with the possibility of data exchange with the position processing unit and is configured to receive and display information on the position of the head section.
EFFECT: invention provides more accurate control over the medical catheter due to accurate location of the head section of the medical catheter using magnetic sensors and displaying its position, which enables more accurate interventional procedure using a catheter; besides, it is possible to avoid radiation exposure both on surgeon and on patient, which increases surgical safety.
