FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to two embodiments of an olefin polymerisation method. According to one embodiment, the method involves: bringing the catalyst composition into contact with an olefin monomer and an optional olefin comonomer in a polymerisation reactor system under polymerisation conditions to obtain an olefin polymer, wherein the catalyst composition contains: (i) a semi-metallocene titanium compound; (ii) an activating substrate containing a fluorinated solid oxide or a sulphated solid oxide; and (iii) a cocatalyst; where semi-metallocene titanium compound has formula (III), where Cp is an unsubstituted cyclopentadienyl group; each X is Cl; and RA and RB represent 2,6-diisopropylphenyl group; and wherein the olefin polymer has less than or exactly about 0.008 long side chains (LCB) per 1000 total carbon atoms.
EFFECT: use of the disclosed method enables to obtain an end product with low content of long-chain side chains.
