FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry and orthodontics, and is intended for use for normalization of tongue position during swallowing and articulation. In carrying out orthodontic treatment, a device containing two orthodontic wire elements is used. Each of the two elements on one end has a support platform with a mesh base, made with possibility of fixation to the clinical crown of the second primary or temporary molars during the change of teeth in the patient or to the second permanent premolars in the permanent dentition, and on the other end – bead balls. Wire of each element is contoured over the patient’s hard palate. Diameter of beads is 2–3 mm, and wire of each element is contoured on hard palate of the patient so that beads of device are located at distance from mucous membrane of 0.5–1 mm. Total length of each element taking into account the relief and contour of the hard palate is 10 to 20 mm.

EFFECT: use of the device, due to the indirect development of the dentition of the upper and lower jaws with the organization of the correct dental arches and the occlusion normalization, allows normalizing the tongue position during swallowing and articulation, as well as stabilizing the therapeutic effect, excluding the recurrence in the retention period.
