FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for assessing the degree of ripeness of tomato fruits, which consists in measuring parameters of slow induction of chlorophyll fluorescence. Maturity is assessed by measuring the rate of change of the curve of slow fluorescence induction of chlorophyll Vt at 10, 20, 30 and 60 seconds from the beginning of excitation and recording of fluorescence. Green fruits are characterized by the following values: V10 = 0.572 ± 0.0144, V20 = 0.868 ± 0.0296, V30 = 1.148 ± 0.0427 and V60 = 1.808 ± 0.0628; brown fruits are characterized by the following values: V10 = 0.724 ± 0.0384, V20 = 0.835 ± 0.0396, V30 = 0.923 ± 0.06 and V60 = 1.125 ± 0.1043; red fruits are characterized by the following values: V10 = 0.125 ± 0.0102, V20 = 0.087 ± 0.0095, V30 = 0.064 ± 0.0097 and V60 = 0.041 ± 0.00106; stage of overripe fruits is characterized by values of V10, V20, V30 and V60, close to 0, and the optimum period of removal of tomato fruits from storage is determined by the time when the values of Vt by 10, 20, 30 and 60 create a common intersection node, which corresponds to the same phase of fruit ontogenesis.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the accuracy and efficiency of analysis of the degree of maturity and keeping quality of tomatoes.
