FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: parameters of probing light beam scattered by plant tissues are measured. Reduced coherence which is relation of coherence to intensity is specified as well as average speed and relative values of coherence alteration and reduced coherence for the same time interval from 1-5 seconds to 10-500 seconds after emitting the beam. Greater values of the above parameters correspond to the plants of greater functional activity.
EFFECT: increasing representativeness and faithfulness of quantitative assessments of the plant functional state, optimisation of agrotechnical cultivation methods, estimation of the plant resistance to difficult environment, selection of high-resistance grades.
