FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to maxillofacial surgery. Skin is incised 2 cm long along the front edge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle within the superior skin fold. Subcutaneous fat is dissected. Greater auricular nerve and an external jugular vein are removed. Superficial leaf of the proper fascia of the neck is dissected. Stylopharyngeal fascia is dissected. Vision-controlled styloid osteotomy is performed. Stylopharyngeal, stylohyoid and styloglossus muscles are bluntly stripped, the wound is drained and closed.
EFFECT: method enables providing high aesthetics and a full functional state of soft neck tissues in the remote postoperative period in the surgical management of stylohyoid syndrome.
