SUBSTANCE: invention relates to versions of keratin and can be used in medicine in the manufacture of a medicinal agent for antipyretic therapy, analgesic therapy, antitussive therapy, expectorant therapy, anticonvulsant therapy or antiepileptic therapy.
EFFECT: invention provides the therapeutic use of keratin, having efficacy in suppressing an increase in body temperature in a fever model in SD rats and prolonging the incubation period of class II and class III epilepsy in mice; expectorant action in a method for excretion of phenol red in mice; antitussive action in the method for stimulating cough with the help of ammonia water in mice, a tendency to reduce the number of writhings in mice and analgesic action in acetic acid-induced writhings in ICR mice.
