SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a display unit for a kitchen device. Display unit for a kitchen device includes: a liquid crystal display panel having a plurality of liquid crystal elements forming a dot matrix, and a plurality of pictographic elements; memory for storing executable instructions for controlling the dot matrix; a processor configured to execute executable instructions for: determining the desired output of the dot matrix; retrieving a predetermined set of instructions from the storage device, which corresponds to said desired output; and controlling the dot matrix using said predetermined set of instructions; wherein the liquid crystal display panel also has a selector element associated with each of the pictographic elements and located next to each of the pictographic elements.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of displaying a larger amount of information to a user of a kitchen device without using a large display with a dot matrix or an LCD display.
